Get Started with SharinPix Free Components

The SharinPix Free package consists of three components. It allows users to upload images to Salesforce as content documents.

The uploaded images can be visualized on Salesforce record pages.

The three components are as follows:

  • SharinPix Single Image (FREE): Displays a static image on all records for a specific object

  • SharinPix Images (FREE): Used to upload and display images in a slider on a specific record

  • SharinPix Uploader (FREE): Used to upload images to a specific record

Information:

The SharinPix Free components are available on Lightning. They can be used:

  • On Community Builder

  • On Page Builder

  • On Desktop

  • On Mobile

The SharinPix Single Image (FREE) Component

The SharinPix Single Image (FREE) component displays a static image on all records for an object.

This component can be configured in such a way that it displays:

  • a Salesforce Attachment

  • a Content Document

  • a specific version of a document (that is, a Content Version)

  • an image using its corresponding link

Here is an example of the Single Image component displaying an image on a Salesforce record page:

To use the SharinPix Single Image (FREE) component, you simply need to drag and drop the component from the Lightning App Builder onto your page layout.

SharinPix Images (FREE) Component Parameters

  • Source: The attachmentId, ContentDocumentId, ContentVersionId, or link of the image to be displayed. Note: This field has a maximum length of 10000 characters.

  • Height: The height of the component in pixels (px).

  • URL field: The API name of the field containing the image URL. Note: The field's value is applied to the component when the Source parameter is left blank.

  • Link: Used to display a link on the component.

  • Text: The text to be displayed is a text on the component.

  • Vertical Align: The vertical position of the text. The values available are top, middle, and bottom.

  • Text size: The size of the text. The values available are small, medium, and large.

  • Color: The color of the text. The values are red, blue, yellow, green, white, and black.

The SharinPix Images (FREE) Component

The SharinPix Images (FREE) component is used to upload and display one or more images in a slider on Salesforce records. It can also be used to download images.

Note:

The SharinPix Images (FREE) component

  • Allows users to upload images as Salesforce Content Documents.

  • Is able to display Salesforce Files & Attachments that you've uploaded separately (which is only available in Salesforce Classic), but uploading with the Uploader on the SharinPix Images uploads all files as Salesforce Content Document, which is the new standard.

Tips:

  • The images available on the SharinPix Images (FREE) component can be found in the Notes & Attachments section on the record's related list.

  • If the upload, download, and delete options do not appear on the component, click on the component to make them available. (applicable to old version only)

To use the SharinPix Images (FREE) component, you simply need to drag and drop the component from the Lightning App Builder onto your page layout.

SharinPix Images (FREE) Component Parameters

  • Record ID: The record ID to which the images will be linked. Leave blank to use the current record's ID.

  • Height: The height of the component, in pixels (px). The default height is 300px.

  • Slider Interval: The duration in milliseconds to display each image in the slider. Set the value to 0 to disable the image slider. Minimum required is 3000 milliseconds.

  • Filename prefix: Used to prefix the filenames of images uploaded onto the component with a custom text. If provided, only images saved with the specified prefix will be shown by the component. This can help filter out unwanted images.

  • Multiple Upload: Option to allow uploading multiple images at a time.

  • Display filename: Option to display the filename for each image.

  • Allow download: Option to allow image download. When activated, a download button will be displayed on the component.

  • Confirm before deleting: Confirmation pop-up before deleting an image.

Note:

Images deleted from the component are also deleted on the record itself.

The SharinPix Uploader (FREE) Component

The SharinPix Uploader (FREE) component is an upload button that allows users to upload images to specific records as Salesforce Content Documents.

Info:

Salesforce Lightning uploads files as Content Documents only.

The images uploaded using the SharinPix Uploader (FREE) component can be accessed within the record page in the SharinPix Images (FREE) component or the Notes & Attachments section as depicted below:

To use the SharinPix Uploader (FREE) component, you simply need to drag and drop the component from the Lightning App Builder onto your page layout.

SharinPix Uploader (FREE) Component Parameters

  • Record ID: The record ID to which the images will be linked. Leave blank to use the current record's ID.

  • Filename prefix: The prefix applied to the uploaded images.

  • Multiple upload: Option to upload multiple images at once.

Note:

In the Salesforce community, use the value {!recordId} for the Record ID parameter in the SharinPix Images (FREE) and SharinPix Uploader (FREE) components if you want to use the current record ID.

Note:

If a non-system admin is not able to see the uploaded file, you should ensure that they have added the following Apex class in a permission set that is assigned to the user:

  • sharinpix_free.Crud

  • sharinpix_free.ImageController
