SharinPix Sketcher

The SharinPix Sketcher component enables users to annotate sketches. Common annotation features provided by this component include the addition of polygons, lines, shapes, text, and many more. This functionality is also available for offline use in Salesforce Field Service (SFS).

This feature is only available on Lightning. It can be used:

  • On Page Builder
  • On Desktop
  • Field Service Mobile (accessible both online and offline)

Getting Started

To use the SharinPix Sketcher component, simply need to drag and drop the component from the Lightning App Builder onto your page layout.

SharinPix Sketcher Setting

To use SharinPix Sketch on both desktop and mobile, you should ensure the following for the SharinPix Sketch component:

  • Assign the permission set, SharinPix Sketch Permission, to the users. 
  • Follow the steps below to set up a SharinPix Sketch Template and use of SharinPix Sketcher:
    1. Go to the App Launcher and find the Sketch Template.
    2. Create a new template and insert the SVG of an image into the template field.
    3. Go to the object where you will add the SharinPix Sketcher and edit the record page to add the component.
    4. In the SharinPix Sketcher component, select the Sketch Template.
    5. Begin adding annotation and text to the Sketch as needed.

Setting Up SharinPix Sketcher for Salesforce Field Service Usage

  • Create a new permission set as indicated below and assign it to the users:
  1. Go to Salesforce Setup
  2. Search and open Permission Sets and create a new permission set, with the label for example Field Service - LWC Access.
  3. For the License, select Field Service Mobile.

  4. In the Find Settings search box, enter and click on Access Lightning Web Components in Field Service Mobile, then edit the page to select the Access Lightning Web Components in Field Service Mobile checkbox.

  5. Assign this permission set Field Service - LWC Access to the user.

 6. To use the SharinPix Sketch Plan on the Salesforce Field Service mobile app, you must create a Lightning web component (LWC) action which is similar to creating a regular quick action, and assign it to your Salesforce Field Service (SFS) layout, as depicted in the diagram below.

Configuration for Offline Use in Salesforce Field Service

Set Up Briefcase Builder for offline use

A briefcase is a set of rules and filters that select records to prime for offline use. Briefcase Builder supports up to 50,000 records that can be retrieved offline. Follow the steps below to set up a briefcase:

  1. Go to Salesforce Setup and search for Briefcase Builder.
  2. Click on the New Briefcase button.

  3. Enter a unique briefcase name and an optional description.

  4. Click Next.

  5. Add one or more objects and any related objects (in our case it is Sketches, Sketch Templates, SharinPix Plan Items and objects you are using e.g Work Order) to the briefcase for the business process, task, or event that you want to make available offline in the briefcase.

  6. Apply the relevant filters and logic.

  7. Assign relevant users to the briefcase. 

  8. Select the connected apps that you want to associate with this briefcase, then to activate the briefcase for assigned users and groups, click Activate.
